Twelve Cavemen traveled over Spring break with their families to the Arcadia Invitational in California.
Friday :
Cambria Hasler placed 3rd in her Open heat of the 400m Dash with a mark of 58.09 (4th All-Time at AFHS).
Natalia Boltz placed 15th in the Rated heat of the 3200m Run with a mark of 11:01.24
In the 4X1600m Relay, the boys A team placed 1st in 16:47.66 (2nd All-Time U.S.), while the B team placed 3rd in 17:25.39.
Saturday:
Tori Stratton placed 10th in her heat of the Open 1 Mile Run in 5:11.91.
Ryker Bement placed 5th in his heat of the Open 800m Run in 1:55.40.
Austin Plewe placed 4th in the Rising Stars Mile in 4:19.56.
Noah Nielson placed 2nd in the Invitational 800m Run in 1:49.86 (1st All-Time low altitude mark at AFHS).
Ben Bradshaw and Maxwell Orr placed 5th and 29th, respectively, in the Rated 3200m Run with marks of 8:58.26 and 9:10.78.
Avalon Mecham placed 26th in the Invitational 3200m Run with a mark of 10:40.35.
Daniel Simmons, Ben Jaster, and Kaden Evans placed 1st, 5th, and 18th, respectively, in the Invitational 3200m Run with marks of 8:34.96 (current US #1), 8:38.34, and 8:46.10. American Fork is only the third team in US History with 3 boys sub-9:00 in the same race, and only the 2nd team with 4 boys sub-9:00 in the same meet.
That's some incredible running! In addition to Daniel, it was exciting to watch Ben and Kaden in the mix in such a high-profile race.
