Simplot Games Results

Our team traveled to Pocatello, Idaho last weekend to compete in the Simplot Games at  Idaho State University. It is the Nation's largest indoor high school track meet with over 2000 athletes from 20 states, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.

We had 10 athletes qualify on Thursday or Friday for the Finals on Saturday; 5 of them made it on the awards podium:

Casey Clinger placed 1st in the 3200m Run in 8:54.97, a new school and Simplot Games Record (Ranked #1 in the US).

Patrick Parker and McKay Johns placed 2nd in 4:09.95 and 3rd in 4:11.67, respectively in the 1600m Run (ranked #3 and #4 in the US).

Sammy Hollingsworth and Sara Musselman placed 3rd in 5:10.83, and 5th in 5:11.84, respectively, in the 1600m Run.
Lexi Wright placed 11th overall in the 1600m Run in 5:16.44.
Nathan Mumford placed 17th overall in the 200m Dash in 23.03.
Joseph Corbridge placed 18th overall in the 800m Run in 1:59.39.
Dalton Brems placed 27th overall in the 1600m Run in 4:35.72.
Katie Bradshaw placed 30th overall in the 1600m Run in 5:30.69.

Weber State Invite

This Friday and Saturday is the Weber State Invite in Ogden.
Admission to the meet is $5.00 for everyone entering the facility. The admission ticket will allow the athlete to participate in one event. For each additional event, the athlete must purchase a $2.00 ticket. Each athlete in a relay must have a card. Friday night athletes, coaches and fans may show their stamped hand on Saturday and be admitted for $2.00.
We will be guests of the Weber State Health Promotion and Human Performance Department. They have instructed us to enforce some very important rules. No SPIKES will be allowed in the arena. Shoes that have spikes removed are not allowed on the gym floors. No food, drinks, chalk or spitting is allowed in the arena. COACHES: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ATHLETES ARE AWARE OF THESE RULES.
We need parents to drive.

BYU Invitational Results

We started the Indoor Season last weekend with the BYU Invitational at the Smith Field House.
On Friday Night, Lauren Rawlings placed 3rd in the High Jump at 5'00.25". Justin Harmon placed 6th in the Long Jump at 20'2.5", and 11th in the Pole Vault at 11'00".

BYU Indoor Invitational

This Friday and Saturday is the BYU Invitational at the Smith Fieldhouse. Parents must register their athlete online before Thursday, January 5th. It is $4 per event. Casey Clinger was just named the 2015-16 Utah Gatorade Athlete of the Year in Track and Field. He was state champion in the 1600m and 3200m Run and runner-up in the 800m Run, and set 5A state records in the 1600 and 3200.
