The Great Southwest Classic

Clayton Young and Mack Morrison represented the State of Utah at the 36th Annual Great Southwest Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico last weekend. They traveled down last Thursday as members of the Utah All-Star Team with Coach Mostert selected as team distance coach.

On Friday, Mack started it off with a second place finish in the 2000m  steeplechase with a time of 6:20.26; 2nd fastest in school history.

Clayton ran a 1:54.7 leg nto anchor the 4th place Utah  4X800 relay team in 7:56.63.

On Saturday, Clayton and Mack ran in the 3200m run. Clayton won the event in 9:22.92, while Mack placed 8th in 9:48.53.

Mack and Clayton helped the Utah squad place 3rd out of all-star teams from Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah.

Several Caveman seniors were invited as well, but were unable to go on account of Friday night graduation.
