Practice Starts

The Caveman Track Team begins official outdoor practice tomorrow, Tuesday, March 1st at 2:30 PM at the AFHS track. Athletes need to bring their complete paperwork and have their fees paid in order to practice.

Simplot Games Results

Last weekend in Pocatello, the Caveman Track Club participated in the 33rd Simplot Games held at Idaho State University.

The marquee event was the 3200m run, where Austin West won in 9:16.17 and Clayton Young was 3rd in 9:27.37.

Daniel Keller qualified for the finals in the both the 800m run (10th in 2:02.20, 1:58.36 in prelims) and 12th in the high jump (12th at 5'11")

Taylir Garrison qualified for finals in the High Jump and placed 10th with a jump of 5'2".

Other participants for the Cavemen were Mack Morrison, 17th in the 3200m prelims at 10:03.20, and in the 1600m run prelims: Tyson Green (62nd in 4:49.43), Dallas Griswold (67th in 4:51.52), and Jacob Healey (99th in 4:59.41).

UHSTCA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Great Southwest Classic results

We just returned this evening from Albuquerque, where our Cavemen performed admirably under record breaking heat.

On Friday evening, Robby Lee broke our school record in the 2000m Steeplechase, placing third in 6:19.15.
Mack Morrison also got on the podium, placing 6th in 6:25.42 (also breaking the school record).



Saturday got up to 101 degrees, and the Cavemen came ready to race:
Danny Keller and Nafe Richardson helped Utah place 4th in the 4X800 relay in 7:55.09.
Robby then placed 9th in the 1500m Run in 4:14.49.
Danny placed 11th (1:59.50) and Nafe 15th (2:00.16) in the 800m Run.
Austin West took 2nd place (9:27.98), Clayton Young 7th place (9:44.08), and Mack  8th place(9:50.12) in the 3200m Run.

The 35th Annual Great Southwest Classic features all-star teams from Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, Texas, and Utah.
