 This Saturday, the Varsity Track and Field squads are competing at the Alpha Invite, at Timpanogos High School. Complete Information and Schedule

Today's Home Meet

 We are hosting the tri-meet this week on Tuesday, March 25. The meet starts at 2:30. Students will be excused from class at 1:45 (9th graders at 1:30) so that they can change and HELP FINISH SET UP. Lehi will be running the shot put and Pleasant Grove will run the javelin. We have to cover everything else. Please let your athletes know that we need help with things at the meet. We may need to have kids help with the high jump bar or rake long jump or move hurdles. Things will go quickly and smoothly if everyone helps a little bit. Here are the main assignments we need to handle.

 Five Cavemen traveled to Boston this past weekend to Participate in the 2025 New Balance Indoor Nationals.

AFHS Head Track and Field Coach Brett Myrup was recently honored as the 2023-2024  Section 7 (Southwest U.S.)  Girls Track and Field Coach of the Year by the NFHS. The Girls' Team won the Region 4 Championship and the Utah 6A State Championship with 9 School Records and 2 State 6A Records.

REP Distance Challenge Information

Registration Link 

Athletes need to carpool or find their own rides to the Ice Oval.

$10 per athlete—covers all events registration. Seeding will take place prior on Meettrax. Registration closes Thursday night Feb. 6. All races will be seeded based on entered seed times. Runners with no seed times will be placed in the final heats of each race.

1. This meet is put on in partnership with the Run Elite Program and strives to develop Utah’s distance running talent.
2. We will run the fast heat first in each event. Races will not begin before the scheduled time but may start late based on the number of participants.
3. 3/16-inch pyramid spikes. The same spikes required one week earlier at the Indoor State Meet. Spikes may only be worn on the track surface. Remove your spikes when leaving the track.
4. Athletes need to be at the bullpen for check-in 15 minutes prior to their event. Heat sheets will be posted on Meettrax Friday Morning Feb. 7.
5. Runners from states other than Utah and middle school athletes are invited to participate.
6. The top 6-8 heats of the 400m Dash will be run in lanes with 4 runners per heat. The remaining heats will be waterfall starts with 6-8 runners per heat.
7. The Olympic Oval prohibits any outside food.

UCCTCA Indoor Invitational Information

 This Friday and Saturday Caveman athletes can participate in the UCCTCA Indoor Invite held at the Kearns Olympic Ice Oval. Registration Information . Please make sure to include American Fork when you register unattached. Remember to sign the Ice Oval waiver (required for entry into the meet).

Weber State Indoor Meet

 We are planning on competing this Saturday at the Weber State Indoor Meet in Ogden. Online Registration is due Wednesday. Registration Link and Schedule

We will need parents to carpool and drive the athletes to Weber State University. We would like to leave AFHS by 8:30 AM (Sprinters in the 55m should leave by 7:15). Coach Mostert will be teaching in Ohio, and will not make the meet.
